Product Details

Unlike the other plant essences presented here, Labrador tea is an evergreen shrub, not a tree. The leaves and twigs of Labrador tea were used by the First Nations as a decoction and infusion to treat various conditions such as fever, rheumatism, respiratory illnesses and seasonal flu. It was also used for its diuretic properties and as a tonic.

The boreal synergy essential oil consists of labrador tea essential oil, black spruce essential oil and balsam fir essential oil. Labrador tea oil is obtained from the distillation of its leaves and is gaining more and more interest in aromatherapy circles. The major compound of this essential oil is sabinene (monoterpene).

Suggested Use

Labrador tea essential oil is often used topically for its astringent, healing and purifying properties in acne-prone or oily skin. In a diffuser, it is used mixed with other oils for its relaxing properties and promotes restful sleep.
